Shingles is a painful illness that often includes a rash and sometimes leads to long term nerve pain. The Shingrix vaccine is the best way to help protect yourself against shingles.
You should get Shingrix even if you already had shingles, because you can get shingles more than once. You may have already received a shingles vaccine called Zostavax, which is no longer used in the United States. If so, you still need 2 doses of Shingrix.
