MCC Campus Rules and Conduct Expectations

Safety by Choice, Not by Chance.

Contraband:

Weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs, or any item that poses a threat to others are strictly prohibited on all Medical Center Clinic (MCC) premises, including buildings, parking lots, and grounds.

Only on-duty law enforcement officers and security personnel acting in their official capacity may carry firearms or other weapons on MCC property, as permitted by law.

Individuals (employees, patients, or visitors) found in possession of a weapon will be required to secure it in their vehicle. Those unwilling to do so will be directed to leave the premises immediately. Failure to comply may result in notification to law enforcement.

Animals:

  • Non-service animals are permitted in parking areas only and must remain away from building entrances.
  • Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless doing so interferes with their work or the handler’s disability prevents this. In such cases, the handler must maintain control through voice or other effective means.
  • Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.
  • Animals left unattended in vehicles will result in contact with law enforcement.
  • Always maintain a respectable distance from ducks and other wildlife.
  • Only appropriate foods such as cooked rice, fruits, and vegetables may be used to feed ducks. Bread and processed foods are prohibited.
  • Ducks and their eggs are MCC property. Removal or disturbance of wildlife or nests is considered theft.
  • Fishing, trapping, or removal of turtles, fish, plants, or other wildlife is prohibited.

Children:

Children must be supervised at all times while on MCC property, including in vehicles, parking areas, and buildings.

Extra caution and supervision are required near ponds, fountains, and wildlife.

Tobacco Use:

The use or sale of all tobacco products (cigarettes, including electronic; cigars; pipes and smokeless tobacco, and vapes) is prohibited on all MCC-owned or leased premises, including buildings, parking lots, grounds, and vehicles.

This policy applies to all individuals on MCC property, including employees, physicians, patients, visitors, students, contractors, vendors, and temporary staff.

Traffic:

  • Pick-up and drop-off areas are designated outside main entrances for short-term use only. Unattended vehicles may be ticketed by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department.
  • Drive cautiously and observe all posted traffic signs and pedestrian rights-of-way.
  • Be alert to individuals with mobility challenges.

Safety:

  • Dispose of garbage in designated trash receptacles.
  • Swimming, wading, skating, or diving in the pond or on MCC property is prohibited.
  • Only individuals with official MCC business—or accompanying such individuals—may be on the premises.
  • Use caution when navigating curbs, sidewalks, and uneven surfaces.
  • Shuttle service is available for patients and guests with mobility needs. To request assistance, call 850.291.2646 or notify Guest Services at any main entrance.

Security Surveillance:

MCC uses security surveillance systems to monitor and record public and restricted areas for the purpose of enhancing safety, deterring theft or criminal activity, and investigating incidents.

Surveillance is conducted in a professional, ethical manner in accordance with MCC policy and applicable laws.

Photography, Audio, and Video Recording:

To protect patient privacy and proprietary information, photography, video recording, or audio recording is prohibited inside MCC facilities without prior written authorization from MCC Administration or Marketing.

Exceptions may be made for clinical documentation by authorized MCC personnel.

Enforcement and Reporting:

MCC reserves the right to enforce all rules and policies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its patients, visitors, employees, and property.

  • Authority: MCC Administration, Security, and designated personnel are authorized to address violations of these rules. Individuals who fail to comply may be asked to leave the premises and, when appropriate, law enforcement may be contacted.
  • Disciplinary Action: Employees who violate these rules may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination, consistent with MCC Human Resources policies.
  • Visitor and Patient Conduct: Patients, guests, vendors, or contractors who fail to comply with campus rules may be denied access to the property or future services, as deemed appropriate by MCC Administration.
  • Incident Reporting: Any safety concern, suspicious activity, or policy violation should be promptly reported to MCC Security or Guest Services.
    • Security Contact: (850) 291-2646
    • Guest Services: Available at all main entrances
  • Emergency Situations: For emergencies or immediate threats to safety, call 911 before notifying MCC Security.

MCC appreciates the cooperation of all individuals in maintaining a safe, respectful, and professional environment for everyone on our campus.
