Our Services General Dermatology: Patients are seen for common conditions such as acne, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, rosacea, hair loss, warts, various skin growths, and common skin infections, as well as for more complex disorders, including vitiligo, genetic diseases that affect the skin, dermatological manifestations of systemic illnesses, and skin cancer. At the Dermatology & Laser Center, our practitioners strive to stay at the forefront of diagnosis and treatment of all skin, hair and nail diseases.Surgical Dermatology: Our practitioners are adept at surgically removing skin cancers, cysts, warts, and other skin growths with attention to the cosmetic results. Various methods for removal of these lesions are available, including liquid nitrogen cryotherapy, curette and electric cautery, shave excision, excision with suturing, laser destruction, chemical peel, and Mohs Surgery. Our physicians will select with you the most appropriate treatment for your problem. Dr. David Gaston is fellowship-trained in Mohs Surgery, a specialized method of skin cancer removal performed in office using frozen section microscope evaluation along with a careful mapping technique to ensure complete removal of the cancer while sparing normal skin. Mohs Surgery offers the highest cure rates for skin cancer along with the least amount of scarring.Phototherapy Treatment: The Phototherapy full body light booths with Narrowband–UVB (NBUVB), UVA, or a combination of both wavelengths are used to treat psoriasis, eczema, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, vitiligo, and numerous other inflammatory skin disorders. Hand and foot units with NBUVB/UVA capabilities are also available to treat dermatoses of the hands, feet, forearms, and shins. We also off excimer laser treatment of psoriasis and vitiligo. Phototherapy is routinely covered by insurance.Cosmetic Dermatology: Today, there are more cosmetic procedures available than ever before. It also encompasses analysis of the potential causes of skin diseases at a cellular level. Our in-house histology lab has a fellowship trained and board certified dermatopathologist who is also board certified in the subspecialty of hematopathology, which includes the study of cutaneous lymphomas.
