OPHTHALMOLOGY
The Department of Ophthalmology is located in the Medical Center Clinic Eye Institute adjacent to the main clinic building. It offers a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with eye-related problems or diseases. The physicians have subspecialty training and experience in corneal and external diseases, cataract surgery, glaucoma, retinal and vitreous diseases and ocularplastic, orbital and reconstructive surgery.
Specialized diagnostic services include fundus and slit-lamp photography, corneal topography, specular photomicroscopy of the corneal endothelium, computerized automated perimetry and fluorescein angiography. Surgical procedures include corneal transplantation and refractive keratoplasty, cataract and intraocular lens implantation, glaucoma surgery, vitrectomy, retinal detachment repair, orbital and ophthalmic plastic surgery, and optic nerve decompression.
