Services
Audiological Evaluations:The Hearing Center, we want to assure you that your hearing loss is not due to a more serious medical problem. You will receive a comprehensive audiological evaluation consisting of the following:
•Otoscopic Inspection (Outer Ear Assessment)
•Tympanometry, if indicated (Middle Ear Assessment)
•Air/Bone Conduction Testing
•Word Recognition Testing
•Distortion-Product Otoacoustic Emissions Testing, if indicated (Inner Ear Assessment )
This thorough evaluation allows us to determine possible hearing aid candidacy and make a medical referral if necessary. The Hearing Center has two ENT physicians.
Cochlear Implant Mapping:To better serve the hard-of-hearing community of Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama, The Hearing Center began offering cochlear implant mapping in 2010. We are currently offering mapping services for patients who use devices manufactured by Cochlear Americas, Advanced Bionics, and Med-El.
Hearing Aid Troubleshooting, Repairs, Preventative Maintenance, and Cleaning:If you are experiencing trouble with your hearing aid or if you just need some help cleaning it, feel free to come into the office so we can help. Please note that any volume adjustments or feedback issues require an appointment
Custom Hearing Protection, Musicians’ Plugs and Swimmers’ Plugs:We can make impressions to order custom ear molds to protect your ears from loud or harsh sounds. These are great for hunting, gun ranges, firework shows, concerts, or sleeping next to a snoring partner. Doc’s Pro Plugs are also available to protect ears from water; however, custom-made Swimmers’ Plugs offer a more secure fit.
Premium Care Program:Our Premium Care Program, implemented in 2012, offers free batteries for the life of the hearing aids and special walk-in hours each day. These walk-in hours are for cleaning, preventative maintenance, and batteries only. Most hearing aids are included in this program at no extra charge. Basic level hearing aids can opt-in for $150 per hearing aid, and this amount will be credited toward the purchase of new hearing aids in the future.
